1. How do I book a transfer?

You can book directly through our website using the secure online booking system. Simply choose your route, select your date and complete the booking form. You will receive instant confirmation by email.

2. Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Overland Track transfers are highly seasonal and seats can fill quickly, especially between October and April. Booking early ensures you secure the date and route you need.

3. What routes do you operate?

We provide transfers between all major Overland Track locations, including:

  • Launceston → Cradle Mountain

  • Hobart → Cradle Mountain

  • Lake St Clair → Hobart

  • Lake St Clair → Launceston

  • Cradle Mountain → Hobart

  • Cradle Mountain → Launceston
    We also offer return routes and custom transfers on request.

4. Where do you pick up and drop off?

Pickups and drop-offs vary by route. We service:

  • Hobart CBD

  • Launceston CBD

  • Cradle Mountain accommodation & Visitor Centre

  • Accomodation

  • Lake St Clair Visitor Centre

5. How much luggage can I bring?

Our vehicles have space for large backpacks, gear bags and hiking equipment due to a luggage trailer we transport with us.

  • 1 large hiking pack

  • 1 small day pack
    If you're carrying extra equipment, just let us know at the time of booking.

6. What is the travel time?

Approximate travel times:

  • Launceston → Cradle Mountain: 2 hrs

  • Hobart → Cradle Mountain: 4 hrs 30 mins

  • Lake St Clair → Hobart: 2 hrs 30 mins

  • Lake St Clair → Launceston: 2 hrs 15 mins

7. Do you run transfers all year?

Yes, although winter weather may affect travel times. During peak hiking season (Oct–Apr) we operate daily scheduled services. Off-season services may require minimum numbers.

8. Can you take me directly to the Overland Track start?

Yes. We provide direct drop-off at Ronny Creek, the official Overland Track trailhead, or Dove Lake if required.

9. What happens if the weather is bad?

We continue operating unless conditions make travel unsafe. If a service is cancelled due to extreme weather, we will contact you and arrange an alternative or refund.

10. Do you offer private or custom transfers?

Yes. Private transfers are available for groups, families, photographers and custom itineraries. Contact us for a quote.

11. Is the service suitable for solo hikers?

Absolutely. Many of our passengers are solo Overland Track walkers. You’ll meet other hikers on the same route, and our drivers provide friendly support and guidance.

12. Can I change my booking?

Yes. Changes can be made - simply contact us before departure, subject to availability. Contact us with your booking details and we’ll assist you.

13. What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are fine although a full refund is given for cancelations over 2 weeks and 50% for cancelations over 1 week.

14. Do you provide child seats?

Yes—please request a child seat when booking. By law, appropriate child restraints must be used for passengers under 7 years old.

15. What happens if my Overland Track hike finishes earlier or later than planned?

Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to arrange an alternative pickup if space is available.

16. Are your drivers local?

Yes. All our drivers are Tasmanian locals with extensive knowledge of Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair and surrounding regions. They understand Overland Track logistics and terrain.
